HeyDevJob
HeyDevJob is an innovative SaaS platform designed to equip aspiring and experienced engineers with invaluable real-world production experience. Its primary purpose is to allow users to debug and fix broken systems within a live cloud workspace, culminating in a verifiable portfolio that genuinely impresses hiring managers.
This platform targets engineers at all levels – junior, mid, and senior – who are looking to enhance their practical skills, build a credible portfolio, and stand out in a competitive job market where traditional side projects are often dismissed due to AI generation.
Key Features
Live Cloud Workspaces: Access real terminals, services (Postgres, Kubernetes, Nginx, Redis, Docker, etc.), and a broken system state for hands-on debugging.
Production-Style Tickets: Tackle authentic engineering challenges across seven roles, including DevOps, Backend, and Security.
Verifiable Portfolio: Every successful fix adds a card to a public URL, showcasing actual work completed, not AI-generated projects.
Industry-Standard Tech Stack: Gain experience with technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Python, Go, Node.js, AWS, and more.
Free to Start: Begin with 5 Junior tickets per month and build your portfolio without needing a credit card.
Interview-Ready Stories: Develop real outage stories to confidently answer behavioral questions in job interviews.
Use Cases
HeyDevJob serves as a critical tool for job seekers aiming to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Engineers can demonstrate concrete proof of their debugging, problem-solving, and system-fixing abilities to potential employers. It provides tangible examples for interview discussions, moving beyond abstract algorithm puzzles to real-world scenarios.
For individuals focused on skill development and upskilling, the platform offers a safe, sandboxed environment to deepen understanding of complex systems, learn new technologies, and practice resolving common production issues. This is particularly beneficial for those transitioning into new engineering roles or looking to expand their technical repertoire.
Furthermore, HeyDevJob revolutionizes portfolio building. In an era where AI can generate side projects in seconds, a portfolio showcasing actual systems debugged, fixed, and kept running provides undeniable proof of an engineer's capabilities, earning trust and attention from hiring managers.
Pricing Information
HeyDevJob operates on a freemium model. It is free forever to start, offering 5 Junior tickets per month across all seven engineering roles, along with full access to your personalized portfolio. For users seeking to unlock Mid and Senior level tickets and gain unlimited monthly fixes, a Pro subscription is available for $20 per month. No credit card is required to begin with the free tier.
User Experience and Support
The platform provides an immersive user experience through its live cloud sandbox, featuring a real terminal where engineers can edit code, restart services, and tail logs, mirroring a day-one environment at a startup. The interface is designed for immediate feedback, with every passed check instantly updating the user's public portfolio. While direct support channels aren't explicitly detailed, a comprehensive FAQ addresses common questions, guiding users through their journey.
