Omphalis is where the things you read, watch, and listen to go to be understood rather than archived. Articles, papers, PDFs, podcasts, and videos enter through the same pipeline and come out as one calm page with the structure made visible.

The four layers
Clean is the foundation. Clutter stripped, layouts untangled, podcasts and videos transcribed. Every source renders as the same uniform, readable page.
Structure shows the shape of a piece before you commit to it. Strata breaks it into typed moments, labeled by what they're doing: intro, deep dive, research. A density bar shows how the piece divides across its topics, so you can see that 80 percent of an episode is one framework and 19 percent is setup. Named people and entities surface alongside it. You can jump straight to a section, a paragraph, or a timestamp.
Mark places high-precision annotations on the passages that matter, as quiet dotted underlines rather than popups. Keep the ones that earn it, dismiss the rest. The count scales with length and density rather than a fixed quota. One wrong note costs more trust than ten missing ones.

Browser extension
Chrome and Firefox. It brings the clean reading view to the page you already have open, shows the Strata section map, reveals inline explanations as you pause, and will read any page aloud with the words following along. The toolbar handles saving, bookmarking, and subscribing. Everything syncs with app.omphalis.ai.

Today runs a short daily loop with a clear done state, no feed and no streak pressure. Inbox holds what you follow. Library holds what you kept, with Collections, tags, and a set-aside shelf. Connections shows what it all adds up to. Settings covers preferences, subscription, voice, integrations, and what data is visible or removable.

The free tier is small, around three articles a month, because the processing behind each item is real work. Connection needs a library before it has much to say, so the first sessions are carried by the other three layers. And it is built for engaging with sources, not avoiding them.
