The story behind SaveMySalary and why we built a different kind of finance tracker.

Our Story

SaveMySalary was born out of frustration with the current state of finance tracking apps. While the market is flooded with countless personal finance applications, most of them suffer from the same fundamental problems that make them unsuitable for many users.

We noticed a common pattern among our friends and colleagues - they were all using Excel spreadsheets to track their finances. When we asked them why they didn't use one of the many finance apps available, the answer was always the same: those apps were either too complicated, too invasive, or both.

The Problem We're Solving

There are tons of finance planner apps in the market, but they come with significant drawbacks:

Overly Complicated

Most finance apps try to do everything - budgeting, investment tracking, credit score monitoring, bill payments, and more. While this might sound good in theory, it creates an overwhelming user experience. You need a tutorial just to add a simple expense, and the interface is cluttered with features you'll never use.

Privacy Concerns

Many popular finance apps require intrusive permissions - they want to read your SMS messages, access your bank statements, and connect to your financial accounts. While they claim this is for "convenience," it means trusting a third party with your most sensitive financial data. Not everyone is comfortable with that level of access.

The Excel Alternative

This is why so many people, including our friends, still prefer Excel spreadsheets. They're simple, private, and you have complete control. But spreadsheets aren't designed for finance tracking - they lack visualizations, mobile accessibility, and the user-friendly interface that a dedicated app can provide.

SaveMySalary takes a different approach. We believe that a finance tracker should be:

• Privacy-Focused: We don't read your SMS messages. We don't connect to your bank accounts. We don't ask for invasive permissions. You manually enter what you want to track, and that's all we know.

• Better than Spreadsheets: We give you the simplicity and control of Excel, but with beautiful charts, mobile access, automatic calculations, and a user-friendly interface.

Our Revenue Model

We are extremly sorry for the inconvenience about ads, but we need to generate revenue to keep the service running. We use Google AdSense to generate revenue. We don't sell your data, we don't ask for more access than necessary, we don't invade your privacy.
